Hi, I’m Ellie and I run The Altar tattoo studio! I’ve been tattooing since 2018, and I specialise in bespoke black and grey portraits, realism and surrealism tattoos.
Since 2022 I’ve guested at various studios and conventions across the UK and have won over 20 awards for my work so far!
I love working on large scale projects such as full arm and leg sleeves and creating interesting designs that suit each clients needs while flowing with the body and flattering anatomy. As well as running The Altar Tattoo, I have regular guest spots up and down the UK, often in Birmingham and London.

Cole Fox | Junior Artist
Hi, I’m Cole. and I’ve been tattooing since 2024. I’ve been lucky enough to have my work recognised with three awards, and I’m always looking for ways to push my artwork further and take on new challenges.
I specialise in blackwork tattoos, with a particular love for ornamental and fineline pieces that are designed specifically for each client.
A huge part of what I love about tattooing is taking an idea that means something to someone and turning it into a piece of artwork that feels completely their own. Whether it’s a smaller individual piece or a larger-scale project, I put a lot of thought into the composition, detail and placement so that the finished tattoo works naturally with the body rather than simply sitting on the skin.

If you’re arriving by car, there’s plenty of free on-street parking available on New Hey Road and Bulkeley road, just either side of the tattoo studio. We’re a three minute walk from Cheadle village, which also has many public car parks available such as Massie Street car park.
- Train
If you’re arriving by train, the closest station to The Altar is Gatley. It’s a 20-25 minute walk away from the tattoo studio with local bus services stopping nearby.
